 The Sandal of the Chancawalli Rafaees – 49 viewsI have just come back from Mahim Dargah I had gone there straight from home as today is the last day of the Urus of the Saint Makhdoom Shah Baba al Faqih Al Mahimi ..ad today is the day the Chancawalli Rafaees place their Chaddars on his Tomb.. they start their act from the Dhuni or the Holy Fire and continue performing till they reach the Mahim Police Station from there they cross the road of St Micheals Church Junction and proceed towards Fakhruddin Babas Dargah, here they take his blessings and cut through a narrow lane paying homage to the local hudlooms, whose patronage is essential too , and cutting across the main road into the sanctum sanctorum of the Holy Saint Makhdoom Shah Baba .. today there was a chest piercing with a sword and the most brilliant was the arrival of Don Jaun Baba actually known as Hassan Baba ,, he is the ultimate from Rajasthan and his home town is 50 km away from Ajmer and he stays at a Dargah called Pathak Wale Baba....we get along pretty well , he was jokingly telling me that I had driven Sikandar Wali Baba to the nether world..
I took a lift on a bike as Mahim area today is jam packed and no cabs.

 46 viewsHandiwale Baba or Khalifa Baba is realistic and a visionary, he knows how to keep his flock happy , and I saw him equally sharing the money that they got from the public , today also I placed Rs 100 on the guy that did the chest piercing with the sword..Khalifa baba gave me some coins , he told me to stitch them in a black cloth and it would bring prosperity to my business, I accepted it out of respect but later gave it to a beggar.
I am not much into mumbo jumbo..happy with what God gives me and am devoid of envy..
